　　公式：so+形容词/副词+that

　　such+(a/an)名词+that

　　so+形容词+(a/an)名词+that

　　such+(a/an)形容词+名词+that

　　so+many/much/few/little+名词+that

　　There were so many people in the shop that I couldn’t get into it.

　　商店里人太多，我都进不去了。

　　She is so lovely a girl that we all like her.

　　她是非常可爱的小姑娘，我们都喜欢她。

　　She is such a lovely girl that we all like her.

　　她是如此可爱的小姑娘，我们都喜欢她。

　　6)引导定语从句的连词：which和that。这两个连词通常可以互换，但在非限制性定语从句中不能用that而只能用which。所谓非限制性定语从句是指只对所修饰的词作一种补充说明，主句和从句在意义上相对独立，如去掉从句不会对主句有影响，主、从句之间用逗号隔开。

　　Mary has a book，which was written by her grandfather.

　　Mary有本她爷爷写的书。

　　7)表示条件的连词：unless，if...not，only if。

　　Unless和if...not在表示“除非”和“如果不”时可以互换。但这种互换不适于当if用在与事实相反的条件句中。

　　only if表示“只有”，放在句首时主句的主谓需倒装。

　　We will go outing tomorrow unless it rains.

　　明天要不下雨我们去郊游。

　　We will go outing tomorrow if it does not rain.

　　如果不下雨的话，我们明天去郊游。

　　He will succeed only if he works hard.

　　他只有努力工作才会成功。

　　Only if I get a job will I have enough money to go to school.

　　我只有找到工作才有足够的钱念书。

　　注意：区分only if，if only，what if，even if/though。

　　If only但愿、要是……多好呀!表示期盼、遗憾等情感。

　　What if如果……将会怎么样?表示推测、疑问、担忧等情感。

　　Even if/though即便、哪怕。表示推测，但无论这种推测是否发生，主句的行为都将发生或继续。

　　What if he tells a lie?

　　他若是说谎怎么办?

　　If only the alarm clock had rung.

　　闹钟要是叫了该有多好!

　　Even if I have to sell my house.I'll keep my business.

　　即便要卖掉我的房子，我也要坚持我的事业。

　　例题及说明：

　　例 l :Perhaps the days will come people will be able to breathe clean air in cities.( 2007 )

　　A. when

　　B. As

　　C. while

　　D. since

　　说明：考查表示时间的连词。答案：A。说明day的从句用连词when引导。【句子大意】人们在城市呼吸纯净空气的日子会来的。

　　例 2:You are saying that everyone should be equal, and this is they disagree. (2006)

　　A. how

　　B. which

　　C. that

　　D. where

　　说明：考查引导名词性从句的连词。答案：D。Where表示在哪一点上。【句子大意】你总是说应该人人平等，可就是在这一点上他们不同意。

　　例 3 :The little boy won't go to sleep his mother tells him a story. (2005)

　　A. since

　　B. when

　　C. lest

　　D. unless

　　说明：考查表示条件的连词。答案：D。Unless除非、如果不，lest免得。【句子大意】小男孩不肯睡觉，除非妈妈给他讲故事。
